Understanding agent status

What the skill count badge, last modified date, marketplace badge, and update indicator mean in the agents list.

The Agents list shows more than just names. Each row includes a set of status indicators that tell you at a glance how an agent is configured and where it came from. Here's what each one means.

Skill count badge

Each agent row shows a badge with the number of skills currently attached — for example, 3 skills or 0 skills. This is a quick signal of how much dedicated knowledge the agent is working with.

An agent with zero skills relies entirely on its system prompt and the underlying AI model's general knowledge. That may be fine for broad, open-ended tasks, but for anything specific — answering questions about your product, following your team's standards, or working within defined boundaries — skills make a significant difference.

If you see an agent sitting at zero skills and it should be more focused, go to the full editor and use Manage Skills to attach the relevant content from your Skills Library.

Last modified date

The agents list shows when each agent was last edited. This helps you track which agents are actively being maintained and spot ones that haven't been touched in a while. For shared workspaces it also helps you see when a colleague has made changes.

Marketplace badge

If an agent was installed from the Contextium Marketplace — either by you or by another workspace member — it shows a Marketplace badge in its row. This tells you the agent originated from a public listing rather than being created from scratch in your workspace.

Marketplace agents work exactly like any other agent. You own your copy and can edit it freely.

Update available indicator

When a Marketplace agent has been updated by its original publisher, a refresh icon (a circular arrow) appears in the agent row. This means a newer version of the listing is available.

You can choose to apply the update or leave your current version in place — the choice is always yours. Updating will overwrite the agent's system prompt and description with the publisher's latest version, so if you've made customisations, review the changes before applying.

To apply an update: open the agent row, look for the Update Available prompt, and click Update to pull in the latest version.
